Summer Fishing Event!

The Rune-Midgard fishing event is back and ready to go! The waters all across the land are rippling with maritime movement, so what are you waiting for? Grab your fishing rod and let's go!

Wait!
You don't have a fishing rod?!
We'll have to fix that right quick!

Head on over to Alberta, by the docks, and talk to Westley.
If you give him the materials he needs, he'll fix you up a rod of your choice.
If you bring him enough materials, he can even make you both sizes!
Hint: Different size rods catch different sizes of fish, so it's good to have a variety!


Leave the fishing rod in your Inventory and fish your way around Rune-Midgard!
There are fishing spots all over the map, all labelled Ripple in Water.
Once you see a Ripple in Water, click on it to start fishin'! Choose your rod, your bait, and cast away!


As mentioned above, you can obtain rods from Westley, but you have to find the bait on your own.
Bait increases your chances of catching Rare Fish, and certain types of bait can grant you an even higher chance of catching certain Rare Fish. You can certainly fish without bait, but you won't find a Rare Fish that way!
Below is a list of various bait and the percentage increase they give in catching each Rare Fish:
For example, Shrimp bait grants a 5% increase in catching an Octopus


A small window will be active during your fishing mini-game. When a fish is caught on your line, it's going to struggle, pull away, or swim closer. Make sure you react properly, or your fish will swim away!


When you finish with a Fishing Spot, there is a 30 minute cooldown before you can fish in that spot again, so if you're hankerin' for more fish, travel to a new spot and try your luck there!

If you manage to catch a Rare Fish, you're in luck - those can be turned into Blue Whales, which can be traded in for exclusive items!

Blue Whales

Blue Whales are a special fishing currency you can get from Westley if you trade him some of your Rare Fish. Blue Whales can then be traded in for exclusive items and game effects!
