  Walking seems to be the only way by which adventurers can visit Veins for the first time:
the town grew far too quickly to develop an Airship line or install the Kafra Warp Service for all of the new migrants.
 
     

Starting from Rachel, adventurers can head one field south, one field west, and then travel two fields south to reach Veins. There aren`t too many dangerous monsters between Rachel and Veins, but the fourth, final field in Veins is home to aggressive beasts such as the Desert Wolves, Roween and Gallion. Beware their bestial ferocity!

Cool Event Corp. provides players with a Storage and Save Point service in Veins, allowing them to save their Save Points in or near town. Adventurers planning to travel between Veins and Rachel should save their Respawn Point in Veins, and Acolyte Class characters may want to save their Warp Portal Memo Point there.

 
 
 
   

According to legend, Thor fought a fierce battle with evil fire spirits and hammered them down with such force that the earth itself was wounded and shed burning blood, thus creating Thor Volcano. No one can ascertain the truth of this story, but it is quite believable: the volcano’s caves are teeming with mysterious fire spirit monsters that attack adventurers that may be seeking shelter from the rain and typhoons outside.

When the Hetarium craze erupted in Veins, the fire spirits in Thor Volcano suddenly grew much stronger and aggressive. Many people were killed by their wrathful flames, and so the people of Veins blocked the main entrance to the Thor Volcano caves.

 
  Although it is prohibited to enter the volcanic caves, a young boy reported that he had seen some uniformed men going in and out of Thor Volcano. The Veins consul dispatched an investigation team to check the boy’s claim, but could not find a way to enter Thor Volcano. Are these events related to the sudden rush for Hetarium? What could be going on in Thor Volcano? If evil is afoot, then the Rune-Midgarts adventurers must be there to stamp it out!  
 
 
 

The Thor Volcano is located in the 3rd field of Veins and is composed of 3 levels. It is difficult to reach this dungeon from Rune-Midgarts since it is between Rachel and Veins, but any adventurer is able to enter. Acolyte Class players can register Warp Memo Points in any of the fields in Veins, making it a little easier to access this distant dungeon.

Aside from the Kahos, all the monsters in Thor Volcano are new additions in Ragnarok Online Episode 11.2. Most of these fiends are Fire attribute and Boss type monsters: Thor Volcano might be a little easier than the Bio Lab, but it will still challenge the most battle hardened players.

Players usually encounter stronger monsters as they venture deeper into dungeons, but Thor Volcano is a special exception because of a quest introduced in Veins. The second floor houses the least dangerous monsters, the first floor is inhabited by stronger monsters than the second floor, and the third floor is the most dangerous area.

Description
Earthquake
Damage all players within a specific range with a triple strike attack. This damage is distributed among all players within the skill’s range: players will receive less damage
if there are more of them affected by the Earthquake.
Hell Judgment
Damage and curse all players within the monster’s screen.
Pulse Strike
Damage all players in a 15 x 15 cell around the boss monster, and push them
7 cells away.
Fire Breath
Inflict fire damage on all players in a 9 x 14 cell area in front of the attacking monster.
Dragon Fear
Cast Stun, Confusion, Silence, or Bleed randomly on players in a range around
the attacking Boss monster.
Banishment
Simultaneous attack and teleport the targeted player away.
 
 

These six skills listed above are basic abilities added to MVP Bosses. There are other new skills that cause negative statuses to disrupt players, but these six will be used by the strongest, most notorious MVP Boss monsters.

The following chart displays how the MVP and Boss Type monsters have been enhanced in relation to each other. It might be misleading to consider this a ranking since many of these monsters have been altered and strengthened in some way.

  The High and Mid-high level Boss monsters have been greatly enhanced, but the Middle and Low Bosses haven’t been changed very much. The VIT of most Boss monsters has been reduced to 30 to prevent them from getting massacred by the Acid Bomb skill, and the Max HP of some Boss monsters have been doubled so that they will no longer be easy prey in short raids.  
 

New monster skills have been added
in this update, and Boss Monsters have been
especially upgraded. These new skills include pre-existing player
skills and original monster skills. The monsters that will use the skills
listed below have not yet made their appearance in Ragnarok Online.

[New Monster Card Implementation]
This new series of monster cards introduce new abilities
and combinations whose full potential can be harnessed by
players that can intelligently incorporate them into their battle strategies. Instead of overpowered cards that endow obvious advantages, many of these new cards have stipulations that require players to fulfill certain conditions to maximize the power of these cards.

and begin a new life. The island slowly grew, becoming a refuge to the penitent, troubled souls who wished to live in peace, separated from the harsh judgment of the outside world. They lived idyllic lives, erecting simple homes and farms, and a monastery where they could pray to expiate their past sins. It seemed that Freya answered their prayers for peace and forgiveness as the years slowly passed in quiet serenity.

"Goddess Freya, answer our prayers! Protect us from evil...! Please hear our wails of lamentation, and guide us to the road of redemption. We are ready to serve as your tools to enlighten the ignorant. Let us expiate our sins by serving you. We hereby dedicate the blood of unbelievers and the flesh of heretics to you!"

The desperation of the peaceful monastery devolved into madness as Freya`s followers were tyrannized by the criminals that began to dominate their island. Their devotion to Freya became twisted and fanatical, and they completely closed off all contact outside of the monastery to protect themselves from being tainted by the moral impurities of the outside world. Inside the monastery, they began strange, underground projects to direct their rage against the encroaching world of heretics.

The island may appear charmingly beautiful under the sunlight, but its true nature is revealed after the sun sets: eerie groans can be heard over the walls of the monastery where visiting monks and nuns have inexplicably vanished. The truth and the terror of the monastery will be revealed in the darkness of night.
